Event: Gale Warning

Alert:

...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EDT TUESDAY... 
 
* WINDS AND SEAS...West winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 40 
kt. Waves 2 to 4 feet.

Instructions:

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

Event: Wind Advisory Alert

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT TUESDAY...

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* TIMING...The strongest winds will continue into tonight.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* LOCATION...Coastal Massachusetts, including Cape Cod and Islands.

Instructions:

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are expected, with gusts between 46 to 57 mph. Winds this strong are capable of downing small tree limbs and branches, possibly causing isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
